The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (JPET) has launched Viewpoints. This new article category will highlight cutting-edge scientific findings published in the journal. Manuscripts accepted to this category will illuminate current advances, discuss their implications, speculate on future research directions of the topic, and put it in context using appropriate references.

This new category will broaden the science presented in JPET and have a significant short- and long-term impact on the scientific community and the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. JPET Viewpoints will offer the invited author to present a new and/or unique perspective on a manuscript recently accepted for publication. The first expected publication of Viewpoints will be January 2023.
