Background and Mission Statement 

Formed in 2024, the New York City Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (NYSPET) is a regional chapter of the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET). The NYSPET Chapter is based out of St. John’s University, New York City, New York, and will serve pharmacologists and scientists at institutions and research organizations throughout the New York City metropolitan area. Students and scientists in geographically adjacent areas can participate in all NYSPET chapter activities. The NYSPET will provide a forum and platform for local students, scientists and pharmacologists to meet regularly and discuss recent advances in pharmacology, medicine and therapeutics. The NYSPET encourages all undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty to participate in all activities. The NYSPET's regular events and annual meetings will provide participants with networking opportunities and a platform to share their research work, compete in poster presentations, get feedback and find local collaborators.
