What is the membership term?
Memberships are valid for one calendar year (January 1 - December 31). ALL memberships expire on December 31.

What is my member number?
Your membership number is located below your name under your membership profile. You can also find your number on your membership certificate. If you are unable to locate your number, please contact us at membership@aspet.org or call 301-634-7060.

I am trying to log in as a member but I do not remember my username and password. What do I do?
If you know your username, please use the Forgot Password form. If you do not know your username, please contact the membership department at membership@aspet.org or (301) 634-7060.

How do I pay my dues?
Log in as a member, click on Member Profile, and then click on My Invoices or Renew Membership. You may either pay your dues online with a valid credit card or you can print your invoice and mail payment to ASPET, 1801 Rockville Pike, 210, Rockville, MD 20852-1633 or fax it to (301) 634-7061.

I am trying to pay my dues online, but I keep getting an error message. What do I do?
If you are trying to use a credit card that has a billing address different from the address we have on record for you, you will not be able to pay your dues online. This is a VeriSign security feature. Please print out your invoice and fax or mail in your payment. For assistance with making a payment, please contact the membership department at membership@aspet.org or (301) 634-7060.

How do I get a receipt?
When you pay an invoice online, your confirmation receipt should pop up automatically. Please print this as your receipt. If you did not receive a confirmation receipt, please contact the membership department at membership@aspet.org or (301) 634-7060.

How do I update my address information?
Log in and click on Update My Profile. You may also send us a detailed email with your new information to membership@aspet.org.

My membership lapsed a few years ago. How do I re-activate my membership?
If your membership lapsed less than one year ago, you may log in to the ASPET website and pay your dues invoice. If your membership lapsed more than one year ago, you would need to contact the membership department at membership@aspet.org or (301) 634-7060 to reinstate your membership. 

How do I apply for ASPET membership?

I do not live in the U.S. Can I still become a member of ASPET?
ASPET welcomes anyone with an interest in pharmacology to apply for membership. We have many members residing outside of the U.S.

How long does it take to process my membership application and become a member?
We review membership applications on a daily basis. As soon as we receive all of your application materials, it will be submitted for review. Once the application has been approved and payment has been received, you will get a welcome email from our membership department.

I just graduated, how do I upgrade my membership to regular membership?
You may upgrade your membership by contacting the membership department at membership@aspet.org. Please provide a current curriculum vitae with publication history.

I have retired from my profession. Does ASPET have a retired category of membership?
Yes, a Regular or Affiliate member may qualify for Emeritus status in ASPET if they have been: a) a member of ASPET for 30 years; OR b) retired and have been a member of ASPET for 5 consecutive years immediately prior to retirement. Emeritus members are relieved from the annual assessment while retaining the privileges of membership.

How do I access my free online journal subscriptions?
You must activate your subscription with the HighWire journal platform. You will need your member number to complete the process, either from your welcome email or from logging in to your member account.

Auto Renewal FAQs

How do I opt-in to EZPay auto-renewal?
When applying or renewing your membership, the EZPay Auto-Renew opt-in box will be displayed above the billing information section of your invoice. By checking the box, you will be opting into EZPay auto-renewal for the following year.

Note: ASPET's membership platform does not keep credit card information on file, this lives with our third-party payment processor.

When will my credit card be charged?
Each year you will receive our renewal notifications 30 and 7 days before the expiration of your membership (December 31st). If you have opted into EZPay auto-renewal, your automatic payment will be processed one week before your membership expires. The payment will automatically post to the renewal invoice referenced in your renewal notifications; this will renew your membership.

When will I be notified if my payment expired?
If your credit card should expire before an auto-renewal payment is made, ASPET staff will notify you for new expiration date. All expired and invalid payment forms will be removed from the auto-renewal cycle and members will need to re-enroll in EZPay.

Note: Please be sure to notify ASPET’s office if your payment information changes.

How do I cancel EZPay auto-renewal?
If you decide cancel your EZPay auto-renewal, you will need to contact the ASPET office via email at membership@aspet.org or by phone at 301-634-7060.

My member type will upgrade next year. Can I still sign up for EZPay auto-renewal?
Yes, you can still sign up for EZPay auto-renewal. ASPET staff will be monitoring memberships that are eligible for upgrade.
