Give a Day of Service to Chicago at EB2017
During EB2015, ASPET members spent the day volunteering at Cradles to Crayons, helping the children of Boston.
Since 2009 ASPET members attending Experimental Biology (EB) have given a day of volunteer service in the local communities (New Orleans, Pasadena, Washington DC, San Diego, and Boston). Volunteer activities have ranged from home construction, to painting, cleaning, stocking shelves, building maintenance, food preparation and service.
The Behavioral Pharmacology Division of ASPET will again sponsor a volunteer opportunity at EB 2017 in Chicago. On Friday 21 April 2017 we will spend the day at Pacific Garden Missions, the oldest, continuously-operating, Gospel rescue mission in the country, providing food and shelter for individuals in need. Volunteers will do whatever needs doing to help the dedicated volunteers at Pacific Garden Missions, possibly making beds, preparing place settings, serving food, building maintenance, or general cleaning. Lunch will be provided. Financial donations are not required but are always appreciated
Additional information can be found on the Pacific Garden Missions site. If you want to volunteer, please contact Charles P France at france@uthscsa.edu, 210-567-6969 (voice), or 210-567-0104 (fax) at your earliest convenience. Space is limited and further details will be provided to those who volunteer.
