ASPET notes with sympathy the passing of Gavril Pasternak, PhD, incumbent of the Anne Burnett Tandy Chair in Neurology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Pasternak was a longtime ASPET member and recipient of the 2012 Julius Axelrod Award in Pharmacology and subsequently served on the Axelrod Award committee to select other awardees. He was a current member of the Molecular Pharmacology editorial board and served on the JPET editorial board from 1998 to 2006.
