September 27, 2024

Division for Toxicology (TOX)

British Toxicology Society-ASPET Global Scholar Program

What is it?  A scholar exchange program where ASPET Toxicology Division will select one member to send to the British Toxicology Society annual meeting. The selected member is expected to give a talk at the meeting. The selected member will also have a networking budget which can be used to visit investigators and/or present research at regional institutions.

When:  The British Toxicology Society meeting will occur April 2 – 4 2025. Unfortunately, this will coincide with the annual ASPET meeting (4/3 – 4/6), so the global exchange scholar will not be able to attend both meetings.

Where:  The British Toxicology Society meeting will take place in Liverpool, England. Global scholars are also invited to network at universities and research institutions within the U.K.

Eligibility: Individuals meeting the following criteria are enthusiastically invited to apply:

  1. ASPET member
  2. ASPET Toxicology Division (current ASPET members can easily add Toxicology division to their membership to meet this criterion)
  3. Investigators who are beyond the training stage (both early stage and established investigators) are encouraged to apply
  4. Willing to present your original toxicology research at the British Toxicology Society meeting

How to apply:  Interested applicant should provide the following in a single pdf to aspet.toxicology@gmail.com

  1. Cover letter (optional, but can be used to explain how the experience would enhance the member’s career)
  2. CV
  3. Abstract (representing the topic of the oral presentation for the BTS meeting)
  4. A networking statement
    1. Addressing whether the member would like to network at universities and/or other research institutions within the UK
    2. And if so, which investigators and institutions?

Deadline:  Applications should be received by September 30, 2024.

Review and Selection Timeline:  Decisions are expected by mid-October.

Contact:  Questions about this program should be directed to Cheryl Rockwell.
