Dear Molecular Pharmacology Division Members and Colleagues,
What is your vision for the future of pharmacology?
The Executive Committee of the Division for Molecular Pharmacology is soliciting your ideas for symposia topics, to be presented at the ASPET Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology 2020 in San Diego CA, April 6-10, 2020. This is your opportunity to contribute to planning our next meeting and to help make it the best place to discover new and innovative research in molecular pharmacology.
Our division is particularly interested in identifying emerging, multidisciplinary themes that may attract participation from other ASPET divisions as well as other EB societies. This year we will sponsor four symposia:
- G protein and beta-arrestin Interplay: From Molecular Regulation to Therapeutic Implications
- New Roles and Mechanisms of RGS Proteins in Physiology and Disease
- Leveraging Novel Insights into Allosteric Modulator Pharmacology for CNS Disorders
- New Opportunities in Targeting WNT Signaling
In previous years, we sponsored other well-received symposia including:
- G proteins and GPCRs in Cancer
- Adhesion GPCRs as Neuro-therapeutic Targets
- Organization of Signal Transduction and its Impact on Receptor Function
- The CRISPR-Cas9 Revolution in Pharmacology
- The Pharmacological and Therapeutic Legacy of Dr. Alfred G. Gilman
- Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery in Epigenetics
- Intracellular GPCR and Lipid Signaling
- RhoA in Focus: Pathways from GPCRs to Disease
Some additional areas that may be of interest include:
- Metabolic Disease/Obesity
- Inflammation/Immunity
- Fibrosis
- Mitochondrial Dysregulation and Disease
- Precision Medicine and Advances in Cancer Therapy
- Nanotechnology and Therapeutic Targets
- Pharmacogenomics and What it Means Today in the 23 & Me Era
To propose a symposium, submit your proposal by using the online submission platform. If you have division-based symposium questions, please contact the Molecular Pharmacology Division Chair Tracy Handel (thandel@ucsd.edu) or Program Committee Representative Lisa Hazelwood (lisa.hazelwood@abbvie.com).
Please note that all proposals must be submitted by 5:00 pm ET on March 1, 2019 so that they may be reviewed at the ASPET Program Committee meeting at EB 2019 in Orlando.
On behalf of the Molecular Pharmacology Executive Committee,
