The ASPET Division for Drug Metabolism and Disposition is pleased to award Dr. Kathleen M. Giacomini from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) the 2020 Bernard B. Brodie Award in Drug Metabolism. This award was established to honor the fundamental contributions of Bernard B. Brodie in the field of drug metabolism and disposition. It recognizes outstanding original research contributions in drug metabolism and disposition, particularly those having a major impact on future research in the field.
Dr. Giacomini is being recognized for her seminal contributions to the pharmacogenomics and characterization of drug transporters both in vitro and in vivo, as well as her collegial interactions through the NIH-funded Pharmacogenomics of Drug Transporters project and the co-founding of the International Transporter Consortium.
