Nutrients transporters are regulated to meet to the cellular metabolic demands in physiological and pathological conditions. In cancer cells, the alteration of the expression mediates metabolic reprograming for continuous growth, so that they could be the targets of anti-cancer therapeutics. In the lecture, our recent trials to develop inhibitors of cancer-type amino acid transporter SLC7A5 will be presented and discussed in terms of molecular target drug discovery.
