Who We Are

The American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) is a 4,000-member scientific society whose members conduct basic and clinical pharmacological research and work for academia, government, pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies and non-profit organizations.

ASPET members work in a variety of different fields and include neuroscientists, toxicologists, chemical biologists, pharmacists, cardiovascular scientists and many more. Though very diverse, our members have a common bond through their membership in ASPET. Our members' research efforts help develop new medicines and therapeutic agents to fight existing and emerging diseases.

ASPET’s Vision

ASPET envisions a world where there is a safe and effective therapeutic for every disease.

ASPET’s Mission

ASPET is a global pharmacology community that advances the science of drugs and therapeutics to accelerate the discovery of cures for disease.  We are in constant pursuit of our Mission through research, education, innovation, and advocacy.

Strategic Plan

ASPET’s strategic plan identifies the strategic and critical areas of focus for the Society to keep pharmacology at the cutting edge of biomedical research and education. Read the 2023 - 2027 ASPET Strategic Plan.
