Events on Election Day : Advocate for Health, Wellness, and the Health Professions
Advocacy and keeping health care – and the health professions – at the forefront of our lawmakers’ minds has never been more important than it is today.

Panel Discussion – Attendees will join a live panel discussion with current health and wellness advocates working on Capitol Hill.  Many come from a variety of backgrounds in the health professions and will answer a series of questions from the #HWP2018 team and participants.

Twitter Chat – This #HPWChat will provide attendees a chance to discuss their own health care interests in relation to the political climate, along with current advocacy efforts in their communities and among organizations.  This chat will be a great opportunity to tweet with professionals, practitioners, current students, and more.  Follow @Healthprofweek on Twitter and look for # HPWChat for more details.

Wednesday, November 7

College Student Day Virtual Fair
College students are invited to explore the diverse health care career opportunities at HPW’s virtual fair. This is an opportunity for college students to chat and network with professionals, admissions representatives, and current health profession students.  Students will also be able to download materials and resources on each health profession and view videos created by students and practitioners in the various health professions.

Thursday, November 8

High School Day Virtual Fair
High School students and their teachers and advisors are invited to explore health careers at HPW’s virtual fair.  Attendees will learn more about what students can do in high school to prepare for undergraduate, graduate school, or technical courses to earn degrees and certifications in the health professions.  They will also have the opportunity to chat with representatives from each health profession.

Friday, November 9

Money Matters
Paying for school is no laughing matter and a panel of experts will be presenting on several options for financing your future health professions education.

Students interested in learning more about pharmacology and its career opportunities may register for this FREE event.

ASPET Members: Get Involved

In order to make this week successful, ASPET is seeking volunteers from our membership.  There are many ways that members can get involved.

Promote Health Professions Week

HPW is a FREE event to all high school students, undergraduate students, guidance counselors, teachers, and advisors.  Help promote this important event by letting your community know about this event.  Tell your neighbors, friends, colleagues, and family about the event and tell them to register to learn more about pharmacology and other health professions.  A great way to get the word out is by posting information about this event on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.  Contact ASPET’s marketing department for additional promotional materials (flyers, emails, etc.)

Download the HPW flyer to post in your department.

Volunteer at the Virtual Fairs

ASPET is seeking volunteers to participate in the college and high school virtual fairs.  Volunteers will be responsible for logging into the virtual booth and answering any attendee questions through a chat room.  7 one-hour volunteer slots are available between 1 PM and 8 PM ET on Wednesday, November 7 for the College Student Virtual Fair and 4 one-hour volunteer slots are available between 11 AM and 3 PM ET on Thursday, November 8 for the High School Virtual Fair.  If you would like to participate, please contact ASPET’s education department.
