The ASPET Annual Meeting is the place to discover and to present the highest quality, innovative science in pharmacology and experimental therapeutics. The 2024 Annual Meeting will build on the success of ourthe re-designed ASPET 2023 meeting that warmly welcomed more than 1,000 participants to the home for pharmacology.

Leading Voice Promoting the Pharmacology Field

Join us in Washington, DC as an active advocate for supporting science funding and federal investment in the biomedical research enterprise.

Highlights

  • ASPET’s inaugural Capitol Hill Day on Wednesday, May 15th from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (space is limited)
  • Advocacy for Science Workshop on Thursday, May 16th from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm ($25)
  • Networking with the 2024 class of early-career scientists in the Washington Fellows program as they put their science policy training into practice
  • Visit with poster presenters to hear more about their policy and advocacy projects
  • Submit your own abstract focused on Science Policy or Advocacy (submission deadlines: Dec 7 or Feb 22)

Online Programming

The ASPET Virtual Award Lecture Series will be held online in April 2024 in advance of the meeting in Arlington. Recordings will be made available to registrants in case they miss the live webinars. At the Annual Meeting, registrants can meet the award lecturers and join the celebration of their accomplishments. The Lecture Series will include the winners of the Abel Award, Goodman & Gilman Award, and Otto Krayer Award.

ASPET Divisions will host interactive Town Halls and scientific sessions online from April 2 to April 19 in advance of the meeting in Arlington. Get to know division colleagues and receive a sneak peek at some of the latest science that will be presented at the Annual Meeting.

Networking and Engaging with the Pharmacology Community

ASPET provides unparalleled opportunities to engage with others in the pharmacology community.

Evening Poster Receptions

Enjoy a drink and snacks while exploring the latest science or presenting it yourself! Poster presentations are held every evening. Posters are grouped by divisional topic area and every night includes student and postdoc finalists competing for poster awards. Hear their presentations and discuss the latest research advances.

Opening Event at the International Spy Museum

On Thursday, May 16, ASPET welcomes everyone to D.C. where you can connect with each other at the conference’s opening network event to be held at the International Spy Museum. Enjoy a night at this fun and inspiring location outside the hotel. The registration fee includes a free ticket. At the museum, test your spy skills and explore the tradecraft through the stories of individuals and their missions, tools and techniques. The exhibits will be open exclusively for ASPET attendees as well as the top floor ballroom for post-exhibit mingling and snacks. Immerse yourself in the interactive exhibits, reconnect with old allies and forge new connections, as we kick off our long weekend dedicated to pharmacology.

Shared Meals

The program is designed to allow plenty of opportunities to share a meal with other scientists focused on pharmacology and experimental therapeutics. A restaurant guide will be available closer to the event.

Generous Breaks Between Sessions

The schedule includes 30-minute breaks between sessions. You don’t have to rush to find the next session room. Take the time to linger to meet the speakers or chat with other attendees in the session or compare notes with a colleague who attended a different session.

Pre-/Post- Conference Activities

Community Service Project - Join ASPET from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 16 to serve the DC area community. Since 2009, ASPET members attending the annual meeting have given their time to volunteer in the local communities. Activities have ranged from home construction, to painting, cleaning, stocking shelves, building maintenance, food preparation and service. ASPET’s Division for Behavioral Pharmacology will again sponsor a volunteer opportunity at ASPET 2024 at the DC Central Kitchen whose mission is to use food as a tool to strengthen bodies, empower minds, and build communities. Further details will be provided to those who volunteer. Sign up when you register for the meeting.

Tours and Tickets Available for Purchase Through ASPET - A limited number of tickets are available to ASPET attendees to experience key tourist activities and events in the city. All tickets through ASPET are non-refundable. More information is coming soon.
