The Division
for Pharmacology Education hosted three Nobel Laureates who are
members of ASPET to celebrate ASPET's 100th birthday. Ferid
Murad, Louis Ignarro and Alfred Gilman each spoke about their lives
in science with advice to those to come in a symposium entitled
"Chance Favors a Prepared Mind: a Nobel Perspective. Afterward
the Laureates received a recognition award from the Division for
Pharmacology Education and spoke with graduate students at a special

Election Results
Dr. George Dunaway,
Professor of Pharmacology at Southern Illinois University School of
Medicine was elected as the fourth Chair of the division and has
agreed to serve as Past Chair/Program Committee Representative (PCR) for
2 years after his tenure as Chair is up. Some of you may
know George (gdunaway@siumed.edu)
and seen him as a regular attendee at our symposia the last two
years at least. Please wish him well.
