Travel Award Application
to Experimental Biology ’10 in Anaheim, CA
April 24 – 28, 2010

The Award:
Eligibility Criteria:
-
Full-time student in doctoral programs in pharmacology or engaged in
doctoral research in pharmacology who will not have completed the
degree requirements by May 1, 2010.

A member of ASPET or an
applicant for membership (completed membership application may be
submitted with travel award application)
-
First (and presenting) author of an abstract submitted for the EB
‘10 Meeting in Anaheim, CA.

Must be an
underrepresented minority in the biomedical sciences (i.e. African American, Hispanic American, Native of U.S.
Pacific Islands, or Native American, including Alaskan Native).

Cannot receive a travel award from another Experimental Biology
sponsoring society.

Application form, either submitted via the web, or sent as an email
attachment to
travelawards@aspet.org

Type or cut & paste your abstract, current
curriculum vita and bibliography in the spaces provided on the form.
If your CV is to large for the space provided, email it as an
attachment to
travelawards@aspet.org

One
completed copy of an ASPET membership application (if not already a
member or pending member), including signed sponsor statement of
qualifications or nomination letter.
Department Head:
Your department
may submit any number of eligible nominees for a Travel Award. One
or more students may receive an Award, depending on the availability
of funds. The ASPET Office will contact you by email to
obtain your endorsement of this candidate and a ranking of multiple
candidates from your department.
Terms
of the Award:
-
Required attendance
at the Graduate Student Colloquium.

Required attendance at the
Committee on Diversity workshop and mentoring breakfast.

The
check for the award and the award certificate will be
presented at the ASPET Business Meeting & Awards Presentation on
April 24. Attendance is required.

The
full Award will be voided if the student does not attend the
Graduate Student Colloquium and the EB meeting.
Application
will be available October 2009.
